Game Under Episode 19

Phil Fogg returns to talk NPD's, Microsoft's latest reversal and some first and final impressions of games new and old, including Bastion, Max Payne, Thomas Was Alone and Vanquish.

This week we not only give our best and worst gaming experiences of the week, but also lengthy discourses on Microsoft's strategy, Nintendo's woes and the plight of the modern writer (and history of when writers had it good).

Thank you for listening and please, if you enjoy or hate our show, tell a friend.

Review Revival: Bastion

In the next show we'll be talking about Bastion, among other things, so I figured I'd pull out a review from Tom's past.  This was lost to the sands of time when robotgeek.co.uk went under, but I've brought it back to life for all the internet to read, right here.

Tom Reviews Zeno Clash II

First-Person Action RPG's.  There are not a lot of them, so far as I know there are two that have been published, Zeno Clash and Zeno Clash II which makes them the absolute best (and second best) in their category.

Now I think about it though, wouldn't Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls series also be described as First-Person Action RPG's?

Well, in any case, Tom Towers, my esteemed and long-suffering co-host has reviewed the newly released Zeno Clash II over at laserlemming.com.

While the characters might still be complete with their funky hair and primitive dispositions on the PS3, the world itself is only a shell of its true self. And any moments of intensity from the PC version that weren’t taken from you by a glitch, are taken from you here by the unreliable and at times unplayable frame rate.

How Lowe Can You Go?

Tom has reviewed the latest re-make of Leisure Suit Larry, the groundbreaking Sierra adventure game from the 80's/ 90's.

The simple puzzles combined with the fact that the rest of Reloaded moves along at a wandering, nonlinear pace across an equally flexible structure only helps to exaggerate the finicky nature of the interface and vice versa.
